Emissions Solutions We Offer
Bi-Fuel technology uses existing diesel engine hardware in conjunction with a natural gas fuel system to allow diesel engines to displace diesel fuel with natural gas. By introducing natural gas into the diesel combustion process, this technology allows diesel engines to utilize gas in co-combustion with diesel fuel, retaining desirable flexibility in power delivery while displacing significant amounts of diesel fuel. Bi-fuel kits can reduce NOx emissions by an estimated range of 25% to 50% and as much as 70% for Particulate Matter (PM). Surefire can provide bi-fuel kits from either Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) or third-party manufacturers and can install these kits as part of the OEM’s package or as aftermarket retrofit kits.
Electric powered hydraulic fracturing uses a natural gas powered turbine to provide mobile electric power to drive the hydraulic fracturing pumps, in lieu of conventional diesel powered units. This technology results in lower emissions, lower operating costs from fuel savings, and reduced physical footprint. In addition, mobile electric power generation reduces the need for fueling discrete equipment at the site, further reducing the environmental risk associated with transport, storage and handling of fuel. The use of this equipment reduces emissions by an estimated two-thirds less than conventional fracturing equipment while providing 100% natural gas substitution over diesel. In total, this solution provides the maximum gas utilization opportunity, while also providing the highest environmental benefit.
